The Friendship Fountain pergola curves around the southeast side of the fountain in two 100-foot sections.
"G.M. Hill provided structural engineering support for the Friendship Fountain restoration project located along the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, FL. The overall project consisted of making improvements to the areas surrounding the fountain, adding seating opportunities for passive recreation and installing new sidewalks, lighting and trees. The project also included refurbishment of the fountain infrastructure, including the pumps, piping and electrical systems, to make it fully operational again and help make it the iconic downtown attraction it was in the past. Also included in the project was the pergola structure which surrounds a portion of the east side of the fountain. The pergola helps to provide a shaded walking and seating area for visitors to the park."
