The first Giant Orange Stand was built by Frank E. Pohl in 1926. Several more were franchised throughout California. Remnants of those oranges can still be found, such as the one in San Jose, California, which is still operating.

This giant Orange was known as George's Orange and was relocated to what was then a Mr. Taco in Dixon. Now Mr. Taco has moved to the other side of the freeway to a shopping center, but this orange lives on silently.
