The posted coordinates will bring you to the top of a series of outdoor stairs located at the Rimrock Overlook in the Allegheny National Forest. There is a parking area here with washrooms and picnic tables. The trail begins here and descends down 82 wooden stairs to the Rimrock Overlook, offering spectacular views over the Allegheny Reservoir. From this point you can continue down 89 hand-built stone stairs (complete with an impressive stainless steel handrail). This set of stairs is spectacular in design, winding through a natural stone archway. This was one of the most impressive things we saw during our visit to the ANF.
Various sources refer to these stairs being built by Chief Cornplanter, although I was not able to find anything official to substantiate these claims.
The overlook itself has already been posted in the "Scenic Overlooks" category (
