In Stoughton, along Route 27, is a nice brick building that has a dated stone with the year, 1892.

The building also has the words, "Stoughton Water Works" in an arch around the front entrance. Fergus MacKain was the designer. The building was a pumping station for the water works. The building is still part of the water works today, but the HABS/HAER record indicated that the original pumps are gone. There are many nice detailing on this building. The most prominent feature is a tall, square, brick chimney rising from the front.
