Wordsworth lived in many houses in the area. At Dove Cottage, there is a museum about his work and life. Wordsworth also lived at Allan Bank, Old Rectory and Rydal Mount.

A simple tombstone in the churchyard, one of the most visited literary shrines in the world. There is a memorial garden between churchyard and river Rothay with seats and daffodils.
