Wordsworth was perhaps THE most prolific poet, writing over 70,000 lines of verse, 40,000 lines more than any other poet

Wordsworth lived in many houses in the area. At Dove Cottage, there is a museum about his work and life. Wordsworth also lived at Allan Bank, Old Rectory and Rydal Mount.

Wordsworth was stamp master at the Stamp House in Ambleside, now called stampers restaurant.

Educated in Hawkshead.

A simple tombstone in the churchyard, one of the most visited literary shrines in the world. There is a memorial garden between churchyard and river Rothay with seats and daffodils.

There are a series of geocaches following Wordsworth's life called The Wordsworth Way.
