The building at 125-129 W. Broadway is a two-story brick building, constructed in 1906. There are three distinct bays, plus a narrow bay between the 2nd and 3rd for the stairway to the upper level. Letters along the top of the building over 129 and 127 still read Max Goldman & Co. from a long-ago occupant. A stone panel above 125 reads Whitley Miller.
The second floor of each bay has four 2/2 double hung windows. Each window has a fan-light transom. In each bay, between the pilasters, there is a continuous round-arch lintel of buff and red-colored brick, and a continuous stone sill. The narrow stairway bay has pilasters and spandrels for decoration.
There is a stepped parapet with stone coping. Above the division of the first and second bay, the pediment has the date 1906. Above the stairway bay the parapet is again stepped. There is a corbelled brick cornice and recessed panels at the roof line.
In the 1950s, the upper floor of this building was a boarding house. The occupants on the first floor were The Merchants Club, Williams Grocery and Columbia Theate.
The occupancy at 129 is the attorney offices of Tony R. Burns. This storefront has a single aluminum and glass entry door on the right, with a brick wall to its left, with narrow horizontal windows above head height. A red cloth awning covers the storefront.
At 127 is an Edward Jones investments office, with a recessed metal and glass door flanked by divided display windows with framed wood kickplates. The storefront is covered by a metal awning.
On the east, at 125, a Shelter Insurance Agency has a single aluminum and glass door with transom, flanked by display windows with brick kick plates.
This building is Item 37 on the District nomination.
