Attractive home is absolutely huge with lots of rooms. There is a decorative entrance, portico like but open, over the entrance. it is not exactly a porch and not exactly a portico. It seems to have been added well after initial instruction. The lower roof over the entrance has cedar shingles, the top roof, traditional. The dormers up top are a nice touch, reminiscent of late 1800s construction. There are a total of twenty-three windows on this house not including the late 20th century porch addition to the rear.
For a more detailed and informed physical description of this site, I have added information from the original nomination form sent to me by John P. Byrne, National Register Database Manager (John_Byrne@nps.gov), Department of the Interior. This narrative was created March 16, 1979, mailed in to Washington, D.C. and evaluated April 18, 1980 and finally approved on July 21, 1982. Thanks to this designation and the efforts of the community to stop developers in the early 70s, Haddonfield is permanently protected and is one of the best example of an intact Colonial America, this 90 year old property notwithstanding.
2 1/2 story frame house built about the 1920s. Dormers in steep roof, pent across front. Triple windows on the first floor. --- National Register of Historic Places Inventory -- Haddonfield Historic District Nomination Form
