Interesting Victorian with a southeastern front, perpendicular to the street. Wraparound porch and cookie cutter trim set the tone in this beautifully restored home.

I spoke with the homeowner who gave me a nice history of the house. The problem is I cannot remember what the heck he said. I remember he said it was built in the 1880s. He found the original title as well to the house. Anyway, he dropped a bucket of money to make this house beautiful. An older picture on Google Earth shows this house was a wreck. New siding, restored posts, authentic trim, new wood floor for the porch and fresh paint make this a choice house.

For a more detailed and informed physical description of this site, I have added information from the original nomination form sent to me by John P. Byrne, National Register Database Manager (John_Byrne@nps.gov), Department of the Interior. This narrative was created March 16, 1979, mailed in to Washington, D.C. and evaluated April 18, 1980 and finally approved on July 21, 1982. Thanks to this designation and the efforts of the community to stop developers in the early 70s, Haddonfield is permanently protected and is one of the best example of an intact Colonial America. Grove Street represents the late part of construction within Haddonfield, occurring the 1880s and 1890s with some homes built in the 10s and 20s. This house represents the beginning of the end of the building boom in this old town.

Late Victorian 2 1/2 story frame dwelling, narrow front but deepon the side with a wraparound Victorian porch, nice brackets, and interesting Victorian columns. Now covered with aluminum horizontal siding. --- National Register of Historic Places Inventory -- Haddonfield Historic District Nomination Form
