Nice house on a shady street with a hot, tin, red roof. This house is one of the older one being built in 1810, according to the historical marker and the NRHP narrative. A lovely porch accents the front.

The marker came after the narrative so I will use the later and date this as 1810. Cornice work and Victorian detail were obviously added to this post Colonial home. The additions help it blend in more with the other structures on the block.
For a more detailed and informed physical description of this site, I have added information from the original nomination form sent to me by John P. Byrne, National Register Database Manager (John_Byrne@nps.gov), Department of the Interior. This narrative was created March 16, 1979, mailed in to Washington, D.C. and evaluated April 18, 1980 and finally approved on July 21, 1982. Thanks to this designation and the efforts of the community to stop developers in the early 70s, Haddonfield is permanently protected and is one of the best example of an intact Colonial America, this site one of its principal components.
The Snowden House, built in 1816. Altered during the mid-Victorian period and now shows exceptionally fine Victorian architectural features. 2½ story in the front, 2 story shed in the rear. Narrow wood siding, windows have 2 over 2 lights. Porch across the front has square posts, chamfered with cap and base and very ornamented Victorian brackets under the simple cornice. --- National Register of Historic Places Inventory -- Haddonfield Historic District Nomination Form
