Long Description:
The Davidson Building is located at the NE corner of the intersection of Pearl St. and 4th Ave., and is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Ellensburg, Washington. The building was under construction at the time of the Great Ellensburg Fire (7/4/1889) which destroyed 10 blocks of downtown Ellensburg (largely wood construction). The architect for the building was J.B. Randal and the builder was William Ames. A distinctive feature is a three-foot Phoenix on top of the south facade, which symbolizes the rebirth of Ellensburg from the ashes of the Great Fire. J.B. Davidson (attorney and judge) commissioned the Italianate style building. The building features recessed entryways, a corner turret, ornately arched windows, and prefabricated pressed-tin decorative elements that mimic expensive stone work. The Davidson building is the only remaining downtown building with a tower. The corner turret contains the date and building name, which are also present on the 4th Street side of the building. The building was remodeled in 1909 and renovated in 1979.

(visit link) takes you to the online listing of buildings within the Historic District. When I try to put this into the link variable below, the Waymarking site places another http:// in front of it which causes the link to not work. Seems to be caused by the https instead of http in the link.
