Saratoga Gap Open Space Preserve is a 1,780-acre preserve that is managed by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. It is largely wooded with Douglas firs, along with grassy hills scattered with large oaks and madrones.

The Saratoga Gap Trail connects with trails leading to Sanborn-Skyline County Park, Castle Rock State Park, Big Basin State Park, Upper Stevens Creek County Park, and Long Ridge, Skyline Ridge and Monte Bello Open Space Preserves.

Parking is available at the Caltrans vista point on the southeast corner of Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) and the Highway 9 intersection. Cross highway 9 to reach the trailhead for Saratoga Gap OSP at the northeast corner of the junction. A PDF map is available online.

The two mile Saratoga Gap Trail parallels Skyline Boulevard (CA Highway 35) and is part of Bay Area Ridge Trail. It provides opportunities for hikers, bicyclists and equestrians. The trail head is at the corner of Highway 9 and Highway 35. The trail ends across from the Hickory Oaks trailhead to Long Ridge Open Space Preserve.
