This is one of many granite posts used to mark points on the boundary lines between towns in this area, in this case, the Town of Ipswich and the Town of Topsfield. The markers generally are located where the town line turns at an angle, although in some cases they occur at intermediate points in long straight runs.

This marker is located in Willowdale State Forest (WSF). You can get a trail map at nearby Bradley Palmer State Park (BPSP).

There are several boundary markers in WSF. An adjacent marker is IT-11 (WM6TG4).
Type of survey mark: Granite post, approximately eight inches square, and about one foot high.

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
It is located near old Gravelly Brook Road, less than 1/4 mile in from Topsfield Road. It is on the outside of the curve where Gravelly Brook Road makes a turn to the west.

The boundary line between the towns of Ipswich and Topsfield.
