Lands End is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Lands End extends from just north of the Cliff House around the coast to just west of China Beach.

Mile Rock and Point Lobos Rock, just offshore, have been the cause of many shipwrecks. During low tide, one can look down and see the remains of three shipwrecks.
