Mural driving fond memories

Future Manteca Pumpkin King George Perry and his bride Vi are standing near Bank of America.

A young dapper Antone Raymus is standing curbside dressed in a suit.

Manteca Police officer Tillie Denero - known for shaking ashes off his cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth as he smoked and talked - is by the lamppost keeping an eye on things.

Manteca High juniors and buddies Frank Vieira and Frank Brazil are doing their best James Dean poses leaning up against their cars while Brazil's sister Lillian snaps a photo.

It is without a doubt Manteca's most sentimental mural yet that captures the feel of the cruise in the early 1960s with a bit of artistic license...
