The Bishop Building was built in 1908 for Frank W. Bishop, who operated a plumbing and hardware business in half of the building and rented the other half. The building was constructed of volcanic tuff and a fire gutted the building in 1940, but it remaind structurally sound and was quickly remodeled and reoccupied.
