[ES] “Tomás, su padre, había estudiado en Madrid, era tipógrafo y a principio de los años 30 se trasladó a Madrid para trabajar en la editorial Rivadeneyra. La familia se estableció en la calle Carlos Arniches.

No sabemos si se alistó voluntario o fue movilizado, pero luchó defendiendo a La República y en 1939 tuvo que exiliarse.

En agosto de 1940 fue deportado a Mauthausen desde Angulema, en el tristemente famoso convoy de los 927 .

El 24 de enero de 1941 fue trasladado a Gusen, donde fue asesinado el 1 de mayo de 1942. Sólo tenía 23 años.

Aniceta, su madre murió en Madrid en marzo de 1942. Su padre y su hermana Yolanda volvieron a Tenerife a principios de los 50, por eso no supieron el final de Rubén, aunque si sabían que había sido deportado. Fue en 2013, a los 91 años, cuando su hermana Yolanda supo que su hermano no había sobrevivido a Gusen.

Su stolperstein se colocó el 2 de julio de 2021 delante de su casa de Carlos Arniches, 17.”
