Information about the statue
The War Memorial at the Burg. Moonenlaan is a monument in memory of all Waalwijkers who died during the occupation and in particular mayor Moonen, who was executed by the occupying forces during the war. On October 30, 1949, the monument was unveiled by Mrs H.A.C. Moonen-Sassen (1876-1957).
The commemoration takes place at the monument on May 4th every year.
