De to kanonbatterier på Stevnfortet er levn fra både Den anden verdenskrig og Den kolde krig. 150 mm kanonerne her vogter passagen gennem Øresund. Kanonerne er, i følge guiden på stedet, angiveligt træfsikre ud til 27 km. Kan ses i museets åbningstid.

Et logisk sted til både at hindre gennemsejling af Øresund og støtte forsvaret mod landgange. Sydsjælland og Falster udgjorde med deres flade strande oplagte områder for amfibiske landsætninger.

English: The two cannon batteries at Stevnfortet are remnants of both the Second World War and the Cold War. The 150 mm cannons here guard the passage through the Sound. The cannons are, according to the guide on site, reportedly accurate up to 27 km. Can be seen during the museum's opening hours.

Two large double 15 cm cannons, originating from the German battleship Gneisenau, are operated from below through an approximately 20 meter high shaft. Elevators lift the 45 kg heavy grenades into the large armored towers. A good cannon team of at least 38 men could fire 8 shots per. cannon tubes per minute from each of the 2 cannon positions. The grenades could reach 27 km and out pierce 12 cm of metal or blow up a ship.

The defense at Stevns was significantly expanded during the Cold War.

A logical place to both prevent the passage of the Sound and support the defense against landings. South Zealand and Falster, with their flat beaches, were obvious areas for amphibious landings.
