Jægerspris Nordskov er kendt for nogle af dens meget gamle træer. Storkeegen, Snogegen og den ældste, Kongeegen, er alle et besøg værd. Turen til træerne fra parkeringspladsen og tilbage igen er omkring 8 km.

Snogegen et et stort, gammelt egetræ. Selvom træet ikke længere er levende, er det bevaret for skovens besøgende og står stadig og udstråler hemmeligheder, historie og magi. Det er stadig tydeligt hvorfor Snoegen bærer navnet, Snoegens grene er snoede og barken er snoet så det ser ud som om træet bevæger sig og vrider sig om sin egen stamme.

Efter at udspringet var blevet mindre og mindre over en årrække, og svampen Oksetunge (Fistulina hepatica) havde angrebet træet, faldt de sidste blade af Snoegen i efteråret 1991. Stubben har en omkreds på 8,7 meter og Snoegens skønnes at have levet i 600-700 år.

English: Jægerspris Nordskov is known for some of its very old trees. Storkeegen, Snogegen and the oldest, Kongeegen, are all worth a visit. The walk to the trees from the parking lot and back again is about 8 km.

Snogegen is a large, old oak tree. Although the tree is no longer alive, it is preserved for the visitors of the forest and still stands and radiates secrets, history and magic. It is still clear why Snoegen bears the name, Snoegen's branches are twisted and the bark is twisted so it looks as if the tree is moving and twisting around its own trunk.

After the spring had become smaller and smaller over a number of years, and the fungus Ox tongue (Fistulina hepatica) had attacked the tree, the last leaves of Snoegen fell in the autumn of 1991. The stump has a circumference of 8.7 meters and Snoegens is estimated to have lived in 600 -700 years.
