EN: As part of the "Buildings tell a story" campaign, the Lions Club in Brühl, in cooperation with the city of Brühl, donated almost thirty boards with background information on the history of the buildings in early 2011. This gray board with white lettering is located at the building "Zur Ewigen Lampe" (eternal lamp) at Uhlstraße 69 and bears the following text:

In 1898 the imposing four-story house with a raised bay window and pointed turret was built by the Cologne architect F. J. Schumm. The name of the house "Eternal Lamp" goes back to the story that the light never went out in this house because it housed a restaurant and a bakery. If the landlord left his pub late at night, the baker came into his bakery.
