Hotel Les Trois Luppars
The hotel Les Trois Luppars is a hotel establishment located in Arras (Pas-de-Calais), on the Grand'Place, at numbers 47 and 49..
Édifice
The hotel is housed in the oldest house in Arras, built in 1467, in Flemish brick Gothic style. Its facade, all in brick for the upper floors, on arched sandstone arches on the ground floor, is the only one in the city whose gable is not in the Flemish Baroque style, it is a stepped gable known as sometimes also “sparrows”. The building served as a basis for the alignment of the houses and their galleries, and its three-level structure suggested the unique pattern of the other houses in the squares of Arras.
The facade of the hotel is classified as historical monuments by decree of April 20, 1920.
Origin of the name
The name of Luppars is a derivative of the word 'Leopards'. These animals are represented in the hotel logo.
