Long Description:

County of memorial: St. Louis County
Location of memorial: Truman Dr., Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County
Dedicated by" The Military Order of the Purple heart, Chapter 125 Fenton, Missouri

Memorial Text:

"Dedicated to the Recipients of the
Nations oldest military decoration

Wounded Combat Veterans
1782 Military Order of
The Purple Heart 1932

My Stone is Here for
the Blood They Shed
The Medal I Bear
Is My Country's Way
To Show They Care
If I Could Be Seen
By All Mankind
Maybe Peace Will
Come in My Lifetime

Personal note: I have a friend wounded three times and has one Purple Heart, another wounded three times and has two Purple hearts ... and another friend, like myself, wounded once...and neither have a Purple Heart.
The rules are strict as to how, where, when and why, to have a superior put a soldier in for the Purple Heart.
