1794 - Marian Column - Zeleznice, Czech Republic - Chronograms on Waymarking.com

The Marian Columns were built in Bohemia and Moravia often as commemorative columns, as a reminder of the tragic events, especially the wars and the plague epidemics.

The column with a statue of the Virgin Mary by an unknown author dates from 1752. During the 19th century, the work was repaired three times.

The chronogram is located on the sandstone pedestal. The Roman numerals of chronogram are larger than the other letters and are not color-coded from the rest of the text.

Ve stredu námestí volne stojící sloup. Jemnozrnný pískovec pískové barvy, zbytky zlaté polychromie. Podstavec témer ctvercový - 1 x 1 m. Ctyri schody, tri s vetší pudorysnou základnou (jeden z nich prakticky v zemi). Podstavec je složen ze dvou kvádru, nad nimiž spocívá drík sloupu, v jehož vrcholu je zobrazena P. Maria Immaculata. Podstavec, na kterém je v celní cásti umísten nápis, je zakoncen profilovanou rímsou, která nese patku sloupu. Kanelovaný sloup je zakoncen korintskou hlavicí, na níž je umístena socha svetice. Socha Ochranitelky stojí na zemekouli s hadem a jablky. Svetice je zobrazena v šate s bohatou draperií, obe ruce sepnuty k modlitbe, nad hlavou svatozár se sedmi peticípými hvezdami.
