This cemetery was once in an unpopulated area, and even now that suburbia has sprung up around it, there are hints of vandalism. The shaft on this obelisk has been missing for some time, as there are photos on Findagrave from 2010 showing it in its present condition. It has obviously been shorn off. The base is otherwise in good condition, with a wreath of roses going around all sides, and a cross with roses on the back panel. The individual panels read:
Nanney G.
Davis
Born July 16,
1836,
Died July 6,
1885.
----------
Tommie G.
Davis
Born Nov. 4,
1871
Died Jan. 27,
1887.
----------
Wm. D. Davis,
Born
Jun 12, 1830
Died
Nov. 20, 1886.
----------
There is an epitaph on the plinth under Mr. Davis's panel:
We only know that thou hast gone,
and that the same relentless tide
which bore thee from us, still glides on
and we who mourn thee with it glide
