"L’abbaye Saint-Pierre fut saccagée en 1794 et détruite en 1817. Actuellement subsistent :

"St. Peter's Abbey was ransacked in 1794 and destroyed in 1817. Currently exist:
- part of the surrounding wall with its door,
- the buildings of the former abbey farm,
- 18th century buildings,
- the collegiate church of Saint-Ursmer and
- the Portelette (18th century), which is a tourist attraction.
This beautiful Baroque entrance, known as the Porte de Thudinie or La Portelette, was the exit on the road leading to the town of Binche. It was probably built by Father Ursmer Rancelot (who died in 1718), who is known to have done important work.
On the door, we can see three works by E. Malherbe: Landelin's Poverty, Ursmer's Bonhomie and Hidden in the Garden, The Crucified Mother."
