The wood frame and clad church has a steep corrugated iron roof, and is next to the intersection with Brisbane Valley Highway and Clive Street. It was originally a Methodist Church, but then in 1977 it became a part of the Uniting Church until the newer brick church was built directly over the road in 2013. Meanwhile the ex-church became the Fernvale Lions Centre in March 2019. There is a square sandstone stela immediately in the yard with a plaque for the 'Lions Centre'.
In the front yard of the current Uniting Church directly over the road is a wooden Churchyard Cross, and nearby the cross on a small boulder is a dedicatory bronze plaque, with the following inscription:
Dedicated to the Memory of
THE PIONEERS
who established Methodism
in Fernvale in 1872
and erected this Church in 1894
16 June 2002
Moderator: Rev. Dr. Ray Redcliffe
Minister: Rev. Tony Paynter.
The current Uniting Church over the road was dedicated on October 2013 - a bronze plaque next to the 'office' entry.

* Evidently from the website link below, this building was originally over the road at 1503 Brisbane Valley Highway - where the current Uniting Church is sited!
