The Uniting Church was dedicated in October 2013 by a plaque on the building, however the wooden cross appears to have been placed earlier at the Methodist/Uniting Church just over the road before the move. The cross has an ornate wrought iron cross with twin rods for the upright and arm, with flourishes on the arms and to the top, and is affixed to the back of the cross. Nearby the cross on a small boulder is a dedicatory bronze plaque, with the following inscription:
Dedicated to the Memory of
THE PIONEERS
who established Methodism
in Fernvale in 1872
and erected this Church in 1894
16 June 2002
Moderator: Rev. Dr. Ray Redcliffe
Minister: Rev. Tony Paynter.
