A hefty granite monument honoring Gaetano Del Giudice can be found on Victory Highway/R.I. Route 102 on a traffic island in Scituate, Rhode Island. Mr. Del Giudice was a World War I veteran, a founder of the American Legion, and musician.

The thick stone is very roughly hewn into a square with a rounded top edge and is balanced on a similarly finished rectangular base. A just-out-of-round circle is carved about an inch deep into the monolith face. Inside and near the top of the circle is engraved with the outline of a French Horn and the text:

GAETANO DEL GIUDICE
THE MAN WITH THE HORN
SEPT. 18, 1887 - MAY 9, 1972
VETERAN OF WORLD WAR I
FOUNDER OF THE
AMERICAN LEGION

Taking up most of the back side is a perfect square carved totally flat and completely blank.
List if there are any visiting hours:
For safety's sake, I would recommend only stopping to visit this marker during full daylight hours and when the roads are dry. Though it is located on an island at the convergence of three state highway roads, this WayMark is not in an area with street lights, there are no parking areas except for the shoulder, and you need to cross multiple lanes of traffic moving above 45 MPH to get right up to it.

Entrance fees (if it applies): $0.00
