An open book, either the Book of Life or a Holy Bible, is at the top of this white marble headstone. The family name, "Jordan", is on the reverse plinth, with an epitaph:

You are not dead to us,
But as a bright star unseen.
We hold that you are ever near;
Though death intrudes between.

Below the Woodmen of the World emblem, which is superimposed upon the Gates of Heaven, is this inscription:

Richard N. Husband of
Pairilee Jordan

Born Sept. 18, 1854
Died Jan. 4, 1914
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
