Rathaus zu Ebern
1604 erbaute Renaissanceanlage mit prächtiger Fachwerkfassade – 1980 Renovierung mit neugestaltetem Innenhof, neuer Anstrich 2001/02. Dreistöckiger Fachwerkbau mit wunderschöner Fassade, der alle Nachbarhäuser überragt. Das Erdgeschoss bildete früher eine gegen die Straße in 4 mächtigen Rundbogen offene Markthalle. Rechts oberhalb des nördlichsten Bogens haben sich auf 2 Steintäfelchen die beiden bauführenden Bürgermeister mit Namen und Wappen verewigt (Nicolas Betz und Hans Schmid). Die kreisförmig gerahmten Wappen zwischen den Rundbogen stehen für Fürstbischof
Julius Echter, seinen Amtmann Michael von Lichtenstein, den Keller (Verwalter) Valentin Geiger und für die Stadt Ebern. Den prächtigen Bau krönt ein Glockentürmchen aus dem Jahr 1835.

Ebern ist eine Stadt im unterfränkischen Landkreis Haßberge in Bayern und Sitz der Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Ebern. Die gut erhaltene Altstadt wird noch von großen Teilen ihrer starken mittelalterlichen Stadtbefestigung umgeben. Ein gepflegter Anlagenring trennt das historische Ensemble von den weitläufigen Neubaugebieten der Stadterweiterung aus der Zeit nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg.

Built in 1604, renaissance complex with magnificent half-timbered facade - 1980 renovation with newly designed courtyard, new painting 2001/02. Three-story half-timbered building with a beautiful facade that towers over all neighboring buildings. The ground floor used to be a market hall open against the street in four mighty round arches. Right above the most northerly arch, the two burghers with names and coats of arms have immortalized themselves on two stone tablets (Nicolas Betz and Hans Schmid). Ebern is a city in the Lower Franconian district Haßberge in Bavaria and the seat of the administrative community Ebern. The well-preserved old town is still surrounded by much of its strong medieval fortifications. A well-kept ring of equipment separates the historic ensemble from the sprawling development areas of post-World War II urban expansion.
