Sadly the landing of the ANZAC soldiers at Gallipoli was not the thing that changed to course of World War One, but it forever changed the character amd nature of Australians, as many localities (including Hay) had sent many of 'their sons' to aid the war effort, many never to return.

Below a white painted concrete cross is a bronze plaque, with the following inscription:

RSL logo
"To Commemorate the Centenary of ANZAC
this plaque was Dedicated on
25th April, 2015
to Remember the Citizens' of
Hay and District
Who went to The Great War

LEST WE FORGET"

This is outside/alongside the Hay War Memorial Hall.
