This sundial is mounted above the main entrance to Minster Abbey. The sundial is approx. 2 feet square and has a blue background surrounded in a semi decorative wooden frame. The feature on the dial is a half sun with rays pointing out. Each ray leads to the hour which is written in white Roman numerals. The dial fixed to the centre of the sun is angled out and down.
This dial is in a very good condition, and as seen in the main photo, as the sun was shining on my visit, gives an accurate shadow of the time of day. You can see that i took this photo just before 2pm.
Written just above the dial are the words "My times are in thy hand"
The published co-ordinates are accurate when standing under the dial.
Access to this sundial is not restricted and therefore can be visited 24 hours a day.
