This commemorative plaque honors Jackie Robinson's stay with the Royals and marks the former location of the De Lorimier stadium.
While playing for the Royals, Jackie Robinson became the first player of color to play in the (baseball) professional leagues. Jackie Robinson bequeathed his glory to his family
and all of baseball and deserves an important place among the immortals of this sport.
In the spirit of Montrealers, Jackie Robinson remained a symbol of excellence, courage and perseverance.
