EN: The reformed church of Môtier stand in the west of the village at the road to Haut-Vully.

It dats back to the 11th century and is much older than the surrounding village, that probably evolved from a monastery - "Môtier" derives from the Latin "monasterium" - but I could not find any details about it.

The oldest part of the church is the Romanesque tower. The Gothic chancel was rebuilt in the 15th century and the nave was enlarged in the 1820s, which is eassy to tell by the different styles of the façade and the windows. In 2009 the tower was damaded by a heavy storm and had to be renovated.

Starting as a Roman Catholic church in the Middle Ages, the community joined the reformation in 1530 and today belongs to the Evangelical-Reformed church.
