Slow Elks Crossing sign.....whoa, wait a minute. There aren't any elk in Florida. Why is there an elk crossing sign here?
Located on Rotonda Blvd. East just before the turn off for one of the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail parking areas is a Slow Elks Crossing sign. It is mounted on a post just below a "Hidden Driveway Ahead " sign. After stopping and getting coordinates and photos because this sign defied all logical explantation we realized why it was here. You will understand too, after you visit it.
