To get to the machine, you will have to pay to enter the park. As of this writing, it cost $25 for a car pass, which is good for 7 days. After you go past the gate, you can take the 2nd left and park in front of the house.

(H) volcano with “Hawaii Volcanoes” above and “National Park” below
(H) steam vent with Hawaii Volcanoes” above and “National Park” below

It will cost you 51 cents to get one and change is available in the gift shop.
