"Au XIXe siècle, Jean Henri Seyvaud offrit la somme nécessaire pour l’édification d’une fontaine, surmontée d’un Bacchus souriant au cœur de la localité. Par un ingénieux système, une barrique de vin placée dans le café d’en face, approvisionna la fontaine en vin pour quelques heures, le 2 octobre 1887 lors de son inauguration le jour de la Saint-Léger. Pendant longtemps, la chanson de l’eau retentit sur la place.

"In the nineteenth century, Jean Henri Seyvaud offered the sum necessary for the construction of a fountain, surmounted by a smiling Bacchus in the heart of the locality.An ingenious system, a barrel of wine placed in the cafe opposite , supplied the fountain with wine for a few hours, on October 2, 1887, when it was inaugurated on Saint-Léger's day, and for a long time the song of water was heard in the square.
