"Au XIXe siècle, Jean Henri Seyvaud offrit la somme nécessaire pour l’édification d’une fontaine, surmontée d’un Bacchus souriant au cœur de la localité. Par un ingénieux système, une barrique de vin placée dans le café d’en face, approvisionna la fontaine en vin pour quelques heures, le 2 octobre 1887 lors de son inauguration le jour de la Saint-Léger. Pendant longtemps, la chanson de l’eau retentit sur la place.
