Yes Virginia, they are not just in Africa.
This crocodile crossing sign is located near Jewfish Creek just off of US 1 Overseas Highway just northwest of Key Largo. It is at the edge of the Crocodile Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
To get to it you need to take US 1 to Key Largo. Before reaching the Key there is an off ramp leading to the famous and popular Gilbert's Resort. You can now follow the road to Gilbert's and find the crossing. Coming off of Key Largo use the north bound ramp to get to the road.
There is a second sign in the area. We didn't see any crocodiles but it is important to note that the State of Florida places these signs where there have been documented crossings of crocodiles. So please USE CAUTION in this area. These are wild crocodiles and can move at great speeds on land.
