Beginn/ Ende der 'Jean-Paul-Weges' in Joditz bei Hof
Der Jean-Paul-Weg ist ein markierter und ausgeschilderter Wanderweg zu Ehren des Dichters Jean Paul Friedrich Richter (1763–1825). Der Wanderweg im Regierungsbezirk Oberfranken wurde am 4. Mai 2002 mit dem Streckenabschnitt zwischen Joditz und Hof eröffnet. Am 15. November kam der Weg nach Schwarzenbach/Saale hinzu und am 17. Oktober 2009 wurde die Strecke bis Wunsiedel eingeweiht. Am 21. März 2010 wurde Bayreuth erreicht. Der Wanderweg führt durch die Landschaften und Orte, die Jean Pauls Leben prägten und ihm viel bedeuteten. Entlang des Weges begleiten den Wanderer Tafeln mit kurzen Auszügen aus den Werken und den Gedanken des Dichters. Der Wanderweg berührt die Naturparke Frankenwald, Fichtelgebirge und Fränkische Schweiz. Der Weg wurde 2012 bis Sanspareil fortgeführt und ist 200 km lang. Er ist ein Verbundprojekt der Landkreise Hof, Wunsiedel, Bayreuth, des Fichtelgebirgsvereins und aller am Weg liegenden Gemeinden und Städte. Die wichtigsten Förderer sind die Tourismus-Organisationen, der Bezirk Oberfranken, die Oberfrankenstiftung, der Kulturfond Bayern, die Europäische Union und die Nürnberger Versicherung.

The Jean Paul Trail is a marked and signposted trail in honor of the poet Jean Paul Friedrich Richter (1763-1825). The hiking trail in the administrative district of Upper Franconia was opened on 4 May 2002 with the section between Joditz and Hof. On 15 November the way to Schwarzenbach / Saale was added and on October 17, 2009, the route to Wunsiedel was inaugurated. Bayreuth was reached on March 21, 2010. The trail leads through the landscapes and places that shaped Jean Paul's life and meant a lot to him. Along the way, the hikers are accompanied by panels with short excerpts from the works and thoughts of the poet. The hiking trail touches the nature parks Frankenwald, Fichtelgebirge and Franconian Suisse. The path was continued in 2012 to Sanspareil and is 200 km long. It is a common-project of the districts Hof, Wunsiedel, Bayreuth, the so-called 'Fichtelgebirgsverein' and other holders. The most important sponsors are the tourism organizations, the district of Upper Franconia, the Upper Franconia Foundation, the Cultural Fund of Bavaria, the European Union and the Nurembergia Insurance.
