Restaurant owner Mayra Medina is from the Michoacán state of Mexico. She moved to Eugene, Oregon in 2015 and sold Mexican food from a food cart. She then moved into a small building at 940 W. 7th Avenue and opened Mama Mayra's Kitchen. When that building was sold, she moved into a larger space at 764 Blair Boulevard where a Peruvian restaurant used to be.
