Along Brighton Beach are quite a few wooden benches, of the same design. Being of mostly narrow wooden slats, but with one of moderate width, near the top of the backrest, where the Dedication Plaque is inset into the wood. There are four vertical narrow slats below the dedication slat, with a further two narrow slats above, which are at two different angle, effecting a curve. The seat part of the bench has nine narrow slats, and being all held in place by cast metal seat-ends are curved to make it of a comfortable shape and design. The seat is bolted to the concrete pavers of the esplanade.
On the top vertical slat is embedded a cast bronze plaque, with black background, for William George Duguid (aka Bill) who had been the Glenelg Football Club 'Club Doctor' from 1967 - 1996. 2001
