J.& R. Weir Limité ont fait construire cette usine en 1857 pour y faire la construction de bateaux et de chaudières. Ils ont occupé le 10 rue Duke pendant plusieurs décennies mais au cours des années 1990, les choses ont mal tournés et la compagnie a été dissoute pour non-conformité (s.212). Le bâtiment a été rénové en 1997 et une compagnie de logiciels s'y est établie en 1999. Même si l'un des 4 murs semble avoir été refait et qu'un panneau lumineux soit présent sur un autre, 3 des murs comportent de très nombreux lettrages, parfois assez effacés, et faisant référence à la compagnie d'origine. On y voit les différents champs d'activité de la compagnie, toujours en référence avec la construction de composantes de bateaux.

J. & R. Weir Limited built this plant in 1857 for the construction of boats and boilers. They occupied 10 Duke Street for several decades, but during the 1990s, things went wrong and the company was dissolved for non-conformity (s.212). The building was renovated in 1997 and a software company was established in 1999. Although one of the 4 walls seems to have been redone and one light panel is present on another, 3 of the walls contain very many lettering, sometimes quite erased, and referring to the original company. It shows the various fields of activity of the company, always in reference with the construction of components of boats.
