Lužický seminar in Prague was founded in 1724 as a seminary for the training of future Roman Catholic priests coming from the Upper Lausitz. Lužický seminar was built between 1726-1728 according to plans by K. I. Dientzenhofer. It is interesting that throughout the facades to retain the original architectural expression. In the first decades of its existence it served only for Sorbian students. Some of them occurred in the Lesser gymnasium, theologians attended lectures at Prague University. Lužický seminar had a large influence on the revival and Sorbian culture. There were also presented Czech theater plays in Sorbian translation.
