"Sandhill Crane. A large elegant bird. 40-48 inches tall with a wingspan of up to 7 ft. It is grey in color with a scarlet red cap. The sandhill eats insects, fruit, worms and amphibians. These birds are capable of flying at great heights. They are often heard before seen with their distinctive rattling call. They are know for their spectacular mating dance."
