This sundial located in Washington Memorial Park is north of another sundial. This sundial contains inscriptions etched in stone on all four sides of the sundial base that contain references to 'time'. One inscription reads:

Oh Glory That We Wrestle So Valiantly With Time.

The above quote is by Richard Monckton Milnes, 1st Baron Houghton, who was an English poet and politician. A second inscription reads:

God Lengthens Time, as Time Becomes More Brief.

The above quote cannot be referenced to any particular source. A third inscription reads:

His Time is Forever, Everywhere His Place.

The above quote is by Abraham Cowley, who was an English metaphysical poet. During his lifetime he was widely considered the greatest poet of the age. A fourth inscription reads:

Not One Face Below the Sun But is Precious Unto One.

The above quote cannot be attributed to any one source but could be a loose interpretation from the Holy Bible.
