On the roof of a business building in the 'Zahn-Nopper-Straße' in Zuffenhausen, Germany, Baden-Württemberg is a F-104 Starfighter aircraft on a public and permanent display. It is well visible at Google satellite images.
The aircraft is private owned and is placed on private property.
It has been placed here in 2013. Several local neighbors were upset about this. They don't wanted to see such a war machine everyday in front of their homes.
The aircraft was used by the German Marine in Nörvenich. Its number was '22 23'. But this number is not absolutly sure. Maybe the number is wrong, because the aircraft with the number '22 23' was sold to Taiwan.
The restauration of the aircraft took more than 800 hours. The costs were more than 100,000 Euro.
There is a plaque as memorial for the killed pilots of all Starfighter aircrafts nearby to the aircraft.
