I found this interestingly huge compass at the trailhead of the Fresno Trail near the corner of Riverview and Granada. I was intrigued by the stone at the center, which reads, "Macro Consulting, Inc., Dick McCullough, President, founder, Vernon's son." I've emailed Mr. McCullough for more info regarding this site. Macro Consulting is in Palo Alto, CA.
A short walk from the site is a plaque regarding the Fresno Trail in Madera, and there are two geocaches close by.
