"Sorenson, Tom 77, Defiance, MO, May 22, 2013. Beloved husband of Kay (nee Schafer), father of Kim (Ron) Oberlag and TJ (Donna) Sorenson. Son of the late Marian (nee Boehlke) and Viggo Sorenson. Brother to the late Bill (Lila) Sorenson. Loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren. Uncle of Jana Sorenson and the late Brad Sorenson.
Tom was the owner of Sorenson Kennels. He won the 1973 Field Trial Championship, and is a member of the Retriever Hall of Fame and American Kennel Club Hall of Fame. He served in the armed forces in the United States Naval Air Force. He was an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Tom was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church of Defiance. Services: will be held 3:30 pm, Sunday, May 26, at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are preferred to the Humane Society, Pleasant Hill Methodist Church or Salvation Army in care of Pitman Funeral Home, PO Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.
